What genre of books would you associate the winter season with?

Winter would definitely fit in the category ‘romance’ to me. It’s the most romantic season that a book can have and even though the Winter is cold and freezing, a little bit of romance can melt it. Sure, Summer’s a good season for romance as well but most of the time it seems to end up in a fling. But in Winter, when the characters in a book go under the mistletoe: that is romantic.

If there’s one scene you could delete in a book, what would it be?

(This contains spoilers for ‘It Only Happens in the Movies’)

I would be so happy to delete the scene where Harry sleeps with Rose. If he didn’t do that, then Harry and Audrey would’ve been together, being happy. I loved Harry (honestly, he melted my heart from the beginning) but when he made those stupid choice, I hated him. And if that scene weren’t in the book, Audrey’s heart wouldn’t have been broken.

What fictional character do you think you most probably wouldn’t get along with?

Well, you see, if I had to choose a badass character to plot how to topple over a queen’s throne, I would definitely go for ‘Poppy’ from ‘From Blood and Ash’. She’s a definite warrior, but she so deeply cares about the people she loves I would be her friend.

But, if I had to choose someone who is nice and gentle, I’d go for ‘Maia’ in ‘Spin the Dawn’. Her kindness and the love she has is just . . . pure. She’s a friend I would love to get a along with if I needed to talk to someone!

What is a genre that you’d like to read more of in 2021?

Honestly? I need more romance + happy ending books. I’ve been re-reading a lot of books and it’s getting a bit bored now. I need something fresh, something winter-y, romantic that ends up in a happy ending. I really do need to get my research about what to read next . . .

How would you describe your reading year in a gif?

Oh, definitely this!

me, like rapunzel, rereading so many books

What is a book that you’d recommend to people that are new to the YA genre?

Geekerella. No questions. Just Geekerella.

Share a quote from one of your favourite books!

I’m sorry, but it just had to be this quote:

If you could save only one character from your favorite book series and the rest of them would die, who would it be and why?

This question is hard. I loved every characters I read in books and I was so heartbroken that they died but saving them and other characters dying? Nope, not going there. And I know every character died for heroic reasons and even though I would love if they can be back, I don’t want the rest of the alive characters to die.

If you had any superpower, what would it be?

I would love to read people’s mind! Just like Edward in ‘Twilight’ (although I don’t really love the series).

What would you do if all electronics instantly disappeared off the surface of the earth?

Try and bring them back (anyone other than me doing this)?

If you could be a master at any one thing would would it be and why?

I would love to master playing blackjack because everytime I play it, I loose. It would be wonderful if I can be just, better.

If your entire personality was represented in a piece of art, what would it look like?

Do you have a favorite quote? What is it and why?

I know Sam asked a similar question to this, but my other favourite quote is from ‘From Blood and Ash’: “When you listen to me, I think the stars will fall” -Hawke. I love this quote so much since it sounds beautiful and romantic . . .

What books are on your priority list in 2021?

  • POPPY WAR (please, I’m begging myself to read this)
  • Tweet, Cute
  • The Hate You Give
  • What I like about You
  • An Ember in the Ashes

Shoutout book bloggers you love!

ALL OF YOU!!

What are some of your favorite releases in 2020?

I only have these two books that I need the most in 2021:

  • A Crown of Gilded Bones
  • A Court of Silver Flames (not long until this book releases!)

Do you have an author you would want to have a debate with?

Believe me when I say this. I would love to debate with Malorie Blackman about Noughts & Crosses because of the ending. I have a whole lot of questions I would like to ask her and debate WHY SHE HAD TO MAKE THE ENDING SO MISERABLE (I’m trying my best not to spoil the book)!! And this debate could take a while to finish . . .

Who is your ultimate OTP?

Hawke Flynn (has my heart)

Recommend a book based on your favorite movie.

  1. Loved reading this post! I definitely agree that I’m looking for more YA romances/contemporaries because I feel like I’m always rereading old ones? Even though I’ve read some quite good ones this year, none of them are hitting the same unfortunately. That being said I’ve added a few to my tbr lately and I’ve just bought Geekerella to read too! I’ve been seeing this one everywhere since it was released but just haven’t got to it?! Need to ASAP!

  2. Congrats on being nominated! ♥ Thanks for tagging me, looking forward to answering your questions 🙂
